Golden Fortune Chinese Restaurant
Reviews Review submitted 6th November 2011 - by Scott from Sydney I have mixed feelings about the Yum Cha at Golden Fortune Chinese Restaurant in Surfers Paradise. There are no trolleys offering you the Yum Cha, even on weekends you order the dishes from the menu. This is sort of OK as the dishes do come out freshly prepared. I ordered the steamed prawn dumplings and steamed peanut and pork dumplings which were really good. The other 2 dishes were disappointing - the deep fried glutinous pork dumplings which should be soft and spongy were rock hard. They did taste good once you bite through the tough shell. And the BBQ Pork Buns were just ok. The bun was soft and light but the BBQ pork didn't have a lot of flavour. And to top it off they do not serve the egg custard tarts. It's not real Yum Cha without these! Just your average Yum Cha place. Review submitted 8th June 2011 - from Martin Simply the best yum cha and especially prawn dumplings there are anywhere i have ever been. Genuine Hong Kong chefs make it oh-so-fantastic!!!
