Restaurant description: A Brazilian style BBQ restaurant where they bring skewers of various meat and seafood around and slice off portions directly onto your plate for as long as you want more. Choices include Sth American Chorizio Sausage, Chicken drumettes, lamb, beef, pork, fish and calamari. Churrasco is Portuguese or Spanish BBQ which is also very popular in South American and especially Brazil. Churrascaria is a steak house that serves Churrasco style BBQ.

This place could be very good if it were not for the fact that the maitre.d lied about the cost of the meal and would not deliver on the discount promised. By looking at other reviews you can see that ours was not an isolated incident. The food was interesting- adequate but nothing special. Service was reasonable to slow and portions served were small. Tick the box- no need to go back AND PLEASE REMEMBER to check your bill before you pay. Review submitted 5th August 2012 - by Stella We went to Firefly for my son's birthday. We were a table of 12 guests and children and we were hoping to get an amazing dining experience. Our booking was 7.30pm and our meal finally arrived at 9.35. The restaurant was not busy. We ordered our drinks and waited. Service was poor and they were not obliging at all. Not once did they intend on making this a pleasurable experience and it was very expensive for what we got. This could be one of the best restaurants on the Coast but we will never go there again. Arrived at 6:30 and didn't get out until 10:30pm spent most of the time waiting for food or to order desert, drinks took about 30-50minutes to arrive after complaining a couple of times. We also went for the 50% off but were charged full price which I had amended before we paid. I do recommend at the moment as the food is good (when it arrives). We tried to make a reservation via their website 5 days before Saturday night, no response, had to call them to book. Ordered 2 more beers and we were sitting right next to the bar, after 10 minutes no beers. Had to ask waitress again, as our beers arrived we also received 2 bruschetta pizza breads to the table. WTF? How can you mix up an order for 2 beers for 2 bruschettas? The food service is good but trying to get the bill took ages to try to get a waiter/waitress attention and then it took 5 more minutes for them to bring the bill. We were told that there was a winter special (which is listed on their website) for 50% off the menu. I foolishly didn't check the bill when I signed the credit card slip. Next morning realised they had not given us the 50% discount so cost me more than $70 more than it should have. Emailed them. After 5 days NO RESPONSE! Why have a Contact Us on your website if you don't check your email? Firefly you could be one of the best restaurants on the Gold Coast but you got to pick up the service. Review submitted 23rd May 2012 - from Natalie I ate last night at Firefly Restaurant & really really enjoyed it! The food was beautiful & the service was excellent. When they knew we had a family member who was gluten intolerant they went out of their way to ensure she could eat almost everything. Definitely recommended!
